We can conduct Cholesterol Tests on site either as part of the normal consultation, or upon request of the patient. From the volumes of orthodox research including the important
Framingham Study,
it is now evident that a single reading of the "cholesterol-level" in the blood, is unreliable. There are different types of fats in the blood, which combine
to make the total cholesterol. Some of these fats are actually beneficial, reducing the risk of clotting and protecting the blood-vessels and heart.
These are known as HDL (High Density Lipoproteins). Other fats are more aggressive,
tending towards clotting and sticking to the lining of the arteries. These "bad" fats are called LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins). It is desirable to have the correct
and healthy ratio with more of the "good fats" and less of the "bad" ones.
Our new blood test gives the precise quantities of each of these and triglycerides, and the Cholesterol ratio,
all accurate to two decimal places and printed- out within 6 minutes of a simple finger-prick.
Whilst many calculations and extrapolations are possible, with the above information,
the total CholesteroVHDLRatio is regarded as a reliable long-term indicator of risk. All readings are discussed in detail and a print-out is given to
the patient for their own records - we provide detailed dietary and general advice, a special information sheet and careful, clear explanations of each
result and its implications.
